About this Course

This is an Accredited Course by the Malta Further & Higher Education Authority (MFHEA), at MQF/EQF Level 7, with 10 ECTS.

The Award in International Marketing  provides students with an in-depth understanding of the global marketplace, international marketing strategies and their applications. The course explores the complexities of global marketing and aims to develop students’ skills in creating and executing effective marketing plans in diverse international markets. The course will cover topics such as global market research, cultural differences in consumer behaviour, global branding and pricing and market entry strategies. Students will be provided with the tools to become adaptable, culturally sensitive and masters of global marketing trends and techniques.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, the learner will be able to:

  • Master theoretical and practical knowledge of global business strategy including the development, implementation and execution of business strategies for global operations
  • Master the ability to interpret key changes and trends in the macro context and understand their implications for HRM/employment relations within a globally functioning organisation
  • Analyse global HR issues from a critical and objective standpoint
  • Master theoretical knowledge of the effect of internationalisation on HR strategies, policy and practice
  • Master theoretical and practical knowledge of contemporary issues for HR professionals and organisations in an international context
  • Master knowledge on the principles of employee productivity and how the management of employee productivity is beneficial to the organisation
  • Master theoretical and practical knowledge of concept and process of strategy and how organisational strategies evolve
  • Critically evaluate key HR policies in terms of their linkage and contribution to organisational objectives
  • Master theoretical and practical knowledge of financial concepts including budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling in order to effectively manage financial resources and investments on a global scale

Awarding Body

This qualification is awarded by Ascencia Malta. This qualification is accredited by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority. MFHEA deems this Award in Global Business Strategy to be at MQF/EQF Level 7 with 10 ECTS in the Malta Qualifications Framework and the European Qualifications Framework for lifelong learning.

Entry Requirements

Students who have no training in the field must have completed a bachelor’s in a relevant subject or have completed an MQF Level 6 qualification. However, students’ circumstances and experiences may also be considered during the application process—five years of relevant working experience in the industry of specialization. Kindly view our RPL (recognition of prior learning) previously approved by the MFHEA policy in Appendix A.

Similarly, students applying for the course need to be fluent in English since the course is taught in English. Therefore, proof of B2 level of English should be provided by the students upon application – IELTS level/grade 6 or the student’s country equivalent.

  • Bachelor’s degree or graduate degree in business, administration, commerce, sciences, finance, management, human resources, retail or a related field
  • Minimum 180 ECTS at MQF Level 6 previously acquired at a Higher Education institution • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • A minimum of one year of work experience in a business environment will be considered as an asset

Assessment Mode

For this module, each student will be required to prepare an individual assignment of 3500 words. Students will be given a case study scenario of an organisation that is requiring them to prepare a marketing campaign for a product that they wish to take internationally.

Marks will be given as follows: 10% Presentation of the assignment and correct use of references 90% Business report

Language of Instruction & Delivery Mode

This programme will be delivered in English in our Campus in Floriana. The course will be delivered through a flexible combination of modern face-to-face lectures, webinars, seminars and discussion forums, tutorials, group work, case studies, guest speakers, organisational visits and independent study.
