About this Course
This is an Accredited Course by the Malta Further & Higher Education Authority (MFHEA), at MQF/EQF Level 6, with 180 ECTS.
The College’s BA in Human Resources course in Malta develops the key skills you need to understand and apply management research evidence and theory. Its key focus is on leading and managing organisations’ human resources ethically, responsibly and sustainably. You’ll study key concepts such as strategic resourcing, human resource development, employee relations, performance and reward, and relevant employment law. At the same time, you’ll develop broader knowledge and understanding of the global business context.
All the College’s courses in Malta will provide you with an in-depth understanding of contemporary management techniques, and will allow you to develop the skills to become an effective and socially responsible manager in local and global arenas, whether in public, private or third sector organisations and enterprises.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources programme, the learner will be able to:
- Demonstrate advanced understanding of themes in business and management
- Demonstrate advanced skills in being able to identify and conceptualise the critical factors involved in management activities and be able to critically review existing evidence in order to support an interpretation
- Work highly effectively in teams, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to function with sensitivity and productively when working with others
- Demonstrate advanced understanding of business challenges with the help of the application of the learner’s acquired knowledge and skills
- Explore and critically test to a high level a range of viable solutions and, from this analysis, propose innovative strategies based on their research findings and knowledge
- Research, evaluate, interpret, discuss and source a wide range of scholarly material in relation to management issues
- Demonstrate advanced and critical awareness of globalisation and the importance of cultural insight in management and business (and, as appropriate, relevant sub-disciplines);
- Demonstrate lifelong learning skills such as effective time-management, strong and positive group working, good communication skills, effective planning and leadership skills.
Awarding Body
This qualification is awarded by Global College Malta. This qualification is accredited by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority. MFHEA deems this BA in Human Resources to be at MQF/EQF Level 6 with 180 ECTS in the Malta Qualifications Framework and the European Qualifications Framework for lifelong learning.
Entry Requirements
Applicants should hold:
- A minimum of a Maltese matriculation certificate (or equivalent qualifications),
- Two subjects at an advanced level
- Three other subjects at an intermediate level and Systems of Knowledge,
- and a pass at Grade 5 or better in the English Language Secondary Education Certificate.
If the prospective student is not in possession of a secondary education certificate in English, they may be asked by the College to demonstrate their English Language competence. Alternatively, a prospective student can be admitted with three subjects at Advanced Level (MQF 4) (or equivalent qualifications), and a pass at Grade 5 or better in the English Language Secondary Education Certificate
The entry criteria for the College’s Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources is designed to offer a number of entry routes, so that each applicant’s previously certificated academic qualifications, prior learning experience and experiential skills can be taken fully into account when determining whether an offer of a place to study can be made.

Assessment Mode
The assessment strategy for the module is designed to provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate both the theoretical and practical skills they have developed in the module. The summative assessments for this module consist of:
- An in-semester test and a final examination.
- The in-semester test (25% of the final module mark) lasts for 90 minutes and is a mix of multiple-choice and open-ended questions.
The final two-hour examination (75% of final mark) consists of four multi-part questions, two of which should be answered. It is designed to reflect the learning outcomes.
Language of Instruction & Delivery Mode
This programme will be delivered in English in our Campus in SmartCity in Kalkara. The course will be delivered through a flexible combination of modern face-to-face lectures, webinars, seminars and discussion forums, tutorials, group work, case studies, guest speakers, organisational visits and independent study.
