About this Course
This is an Accredited Course by the Malta Further & Higher Education Authority (MFHEA), at MQF/EQF Level 6 with 240 ECTS.
This course is an excellent choice for both existing and potential professionals within the facilities sector. This course will help the participants master the skills required to embark on a successful journey as a facilities manager.
Learners will gain a comprehensive overview of the facilities industry and a solid understanding of the techniques available to deliver effective support services for any organisation. This facilities management course will equip students with the skills and practical knowledge to understand this multi discipline industry.

- Critically describe and analyse governance in facilities management
- List and discuss in detail the current trends and developments in facilities management
- Identify and assess the need for effective waste and energy management within the field of facilities management
- Describe and assess the need for sustainable buildings and how these affect the practices of facilities management
- Critically recall and evaluate the need for effective space planning and allocation within facilities management
- Describe and evaluate the use of HVACR building systems and how these relate to facilities mangement
- Critically define and discuss ‘financial management’, ‘budgeting’ and ‘planning’ and list the fundamentals of implementing a budgetary control system
- List and critically discuss and analyse the types of contractual agreements that are available in construction and facilities management
- Critically recall and analyse the business technology processes and procedures involved in facilities management
- Critically discuss the use of maintenance management in facilities management and construction
- Critically describe the fundamentals of carrying our a research project, including research proposal, literature review, results, analysis and others

Awarding Body
This qualification is awarded by Malta Facilities Management Academy and Consultancy (MFMAC). This qualification is accredited by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority. The MFHEA deems this Bachelor of Science in Facilities Management to be at MQF/EQF Level 6 with 240 ECTS in the Malta Qualifications Framework and the European Qualifications Framework for lifelong learning.
Entry Requirements
Students should be in possession of a minimum School Leaving Certificate AND Be in possession of one of the following:
- Grade 5 in English (Matsec Certificate)
- IELTs 6.0 or an equivalent qualification.
If an applicant does not meet the above entry requirements, you are encouraged to contact the Academy for an interview.

Assessment Mode
This programme shall be assessed by making use of mixed methods to ensure that the learners have acquired the necessary skills and knowledge and have obtained the stipulated learning outcomes.
This course, therefore, includes exams inclusive of open-ended questions and multiple-choice questions, individual assignments and presentations, group assignments and presentations and case studies.
The programme also makes use of formative assessments through observation and in-class discussions.
Language of Instruction & Delivery Mode
This programme will be delivered in English in our Campus in San Gwann.
The course will be delivered through a flexible combination of modern face-to-face lectures, seminars and discussion forums, tutorials, group work, case studies, guest speakers and independent study.
