About this Course
This is an Accredited Course by the Malta Further & Higher Education Authority (MFHEA), at MQF/EQF Level 7.
This British Psychological Society (BPS) and Association for Business Psychologists (ABP) accredited postgraduate distance learning degree will equip you with an excellent level of knowledge and understanding of a broad range of topics in Occupational Psychology, including an appreciation of theory, an awareness of the strengths and limitations of research evidence, and how research can be used to help organisations and its employees. It also provides stage one towards the BPS Qualification in Occupational Psychology.
The course uses an online teaching and learning system to create an interactive learning environment. Your learning materials are accessed completely online at any time of the day. Distance learning with the School of Psychology means studying in your own time on a part-time basis, so you can combine achieving a qualification with work or family commitments.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, you will learn how to apply occupational psychology methodologies to solve real-life problems in organisations. Core psychological theories will be illustrated with the latest research and examples of practice. You will develop a range of applied skills including interviewing, evaluation and questionnaire design.

This qualification is awarded by the University of Leicester. This qualification is accredited by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority. The MFHEA deems this MSc in Occupational Psychology to be at MQF/EQF Level 7 in the Malta Qualifications Framework and the European Qualifications Framework for lifelong learning.
Entry Requirements
Applicants should hold:
- Second class honours degree in Psychology that confers Graduate Basis for Chartership with the British Psychological Society (BPS).
- You must also have some occupational experience.
- IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
- If your first language is not English, you may need to provide evidence of your English language ability.
Assessment Mode
Teaching is through specially prepared course materials and other directed reading. Each module is made up of one to three written assignments. There are discussion boards on our virtual learning environment (Blackboard) which let you engage with tutors and other students; these also contribute to your assessment. A range of assessments are used across the course including case studies, presentations (via Skype) and research reports.
