About this Course
This is an Accredited Course by the Malta Further & Higher Education Authority (MFHEA), at MQF/EQF Level 3, with ECTS.
The Award at MQF Level 3 in Intermediate Barbering Skills is intended for individuals with basic understanding of barbering practice and have completed the Award at MQF Level 2 in Basic Barbering Skills or an MQF Level 2 in hairdressing. The programme focuses on the theory and practice of hair cutting, basic hair colouring techniques, and the basics of bleaching and hair straightening. While RPL cannot be offered by the training provider, the content of this programme builds on the knowledge, skills, and competences achieved at MQF Level 2 in either Barbering Skills or Hairdressing.
The programme is 12 weeks long and includes a theoretical and practical exam during the final week.
To receive an Accredited Certificate in any of the Barbering Levels, you require the Award in Basic Barbering Skills course and this course. This Level will then lead you to the Award in Advanced Barbering skills course. Due to the vast experience in the Barbering Industry, Antonio (founder of Antonio’s Barber Shop) himself will be teaching you all the Old School Barbering Techniques, the importance of using the best equipment on the market to give you that sharp finishing look and most importantly, to distinguish yourself from competition in order to keep your clients coming back to you.
Although we will be showing you the basics in Chemically Treated Hair, you will not be qualified to Dye hair or to use any chemicals on the hair. This is mainly done for you to know if a client has chemically treated hair and will give you the knowledge on how to deal with the situation. Should you wish to enlist in our Hair Dye courses, please ask for more information. You will follow all the lessons in class, you will need to purchase the Cutting Tools Kit for this level (a list of the said kit will be given as soon as you apply for the said course).
You will not need a model for the course as all lessons are done on a Dummy Head.
